Pear Tree Point Beach

Is considered Fairfield County’s best beach with a large beautiful pale sandy beach. Shielded by Long Neck Point and Nash Island, this beach a favorite shallow-water beach loved for younger swimmers. Amenities include a handicap accessible picnic area with tables and grills, a gazebo overlooking Long Island Sound, changing rooms, concession stand, and a boat launch ramp. Home to the Darien Boat Club.

Weed Beach

Another spectacular 22-acre park with sandy beach, picnic areas, changing rooms and concession stand during the summer months. The park also has a children’s play area, tennis and paddle tennis courts, walking trails and a fit trail. Home to the Darien Junior Sailing Team.

Cherry Lawn Park

A 28-acre park wi , a natural pond and stone bridge favored by younger children, a gazebo, walking trails, softball field, tennis and basketball courts and an incredible children’s playscape with endless creative options for kids. Home to the Darien Nature Center.

Darien Nature Center

Offers hands-on experiences with nature to encourage environmental action and stewardship. A thriving community center that offers educational programs, a pre-school program, summer camp, live animal exhibits and rotating seasonal exhibits, films and lectures.

Darien YMCA

The Darien YMCA offers an extensive array of programming for youth and adults. Individual and group fitness, swim lessons, a competitive swim team, beginner and advanced gymnastics plus a great day care program and the Holly Pond School pre-school program.

Darien Library

The of the community with a mission to provide experiences that people love and remember. The Darien Library is a Library Journal Five Star Library and is one of the busiest libraries in Connecticut offering over 1500 public events annually. The library has a children’s and teen's room, free Wi-Fi, a 3D printer, and free movie screenings on Fridays.

Darien Ice House

A 2016 renovation added new ice making equipment, updated locker rooms and improved front lobby. The rink is home to both the Darien Blue Wave and ihe New Canaan Rams boys’ and girls’ hockey teams. Public skating is very popular at the rink and the on-site restaurant completes the experience.

The Mather Homestead

Built by Joseph Mather in 1778 during the Revolutionary War, the Mather Home stead is regarded as one of New England's finest examples of 18th century architecture. The recently opened barn museum is dedicated to the preservation of the
homestead as a place for historical education and enjoyment. Open from September to June.

Darien Historical Society

Located in iful 1827 barn with comp exhibits and an extensive costume collection dating back to the 18th century. The barn and exhibits give a sense of daily life in Darien in the 18th and 19th century.
